Chapter 5 of the Billings Logan International Airport Master Plan Update presents a comprehensive evaluation of development alternatives to meet projected aviation demands over a 20-year horizon. It outlines strategic improvements across key airport components including airfield (runways and taxiways), terminal facilities, general aviation, air cargo, and support infrastructure. The chapter emphasizes flexibility in planning to accommodate fluctuating activity levels and includes detailed alternatives for runway extensions, parallel runway configurations, and terminal expansion options. It also addresses parking solutions, general aviation buildout, corporate aviation development, and cargo facility enhancements. Support facility alternatives, such as relocating the operations building and expanding fuel storage, are also considered. The alternatives are designed to balance operational efficiency, safety, and economic growth, and will be refined through stakeholder input to shape the final master plan.
